Looking at the previous submissions I guess there's a bit of a difference between the US pronunciation and the UK pronunciation. In the UK I've never heard it pronunced "Tawm-uss" as these submissions suggest. In the UK it's pronunced "Tomas": "Tom" followed by that sort of non-commital "as" sound like you get at the end of "Christmas".
