"My grand father told me that "Marquina" is the name of a small town in the north of Spain from where our ancestors come from. Garate, I believe, is a family group that lived in that town as well. They are both Spanish last names. The first one has an accent in the first a, like this: Gárate. So when it is pronounced an accent is emphasized on the first a, but for practical reasons the got dropped off in all my documents. The second one the "u" in "qui" is mute in Spanish so it sounds like "qi" or "key" so it would be something like: Bruno Gaaarate Mar-key-na"
