Also, in German it is NOT oo-ta. If it were then the spelling would be UTA. In German, UTE would be pronounced oo-te. If you can't say it, then go to Germany or Europe and hear it there. I stopped saying it that way because after saying it, people would still mispronounce (like oo-tay), so I started to say it oo-tee.

Only in the U.S. the American Indians pronounce it yewt. I was tortured my entire life with that pronounciation in school! Please stop!!!

The real German pronunciation is oo-te (no matter what part of Germany you are from). I will never understand after saying it that way, people still
mispronounce it. So, I stopped saying it the real way in the U.S. because after saying it, people would still mispronounce (like oo-tay or 10 other weird ways), so I started to say it oo-tee. It's NOT difficult, really!!!

It's a German name, and having never lived in Germany the name always causes an issue. When people say you-tee it grinds my gears, the pronunciation is Ooh-tay, unless you are German then you will say it the way you see fit with your accent. My parent is German and says ooh-tay.
