ALTERNATE: "Joff" Where the "Geo" portion is pronounced as it is in the name "George."

Even though the vast majority of people now pronounce it like "Jeff," in fact the "George/Geoffrey" pronunciations have their roots Old English/West Germanic. However, as is the case with language evolution, the "Jeff" pronunciation likely became more popular in certain dialects at some point.

Though I’ve met a few people who pronounce it the original way, mostly people pronounce it the new way –fortunately, I've yet to meet a "Jeh-rge" (the "Jeff" version of "George").
