Michel Dupere came from France to Canada very early on 1700's I believe a soldier of the king who stayed- the dupere's in Canada and US are descended from him- my family - my grandfather was born in Biddeford Maine - either in 1880 or 1890 - his father abandoned his family and disappeared - as there are a group of dupere's in Mass. maybe he went there - in any case my grandfather married in Quebec and came over to Vt by train w/wife and 8 children approx. 1926-
There are not a lot of Dupere's - and we are NOT Dupreys.
